Dollars for Scholars
New Members Welcome
Central Valley Dollars for Scholars (CV DFS) just celebrated their 10th Anniversary and is proud to have been able to award a scholarships to every graduate who applied since their inception. This has been a total teamwork effort and was made possible by hard work and great community support.
The chapter was started in 2009 and is a locally operated and supported, non-profit, tax-exempt scholarship foundation. Their purpose is to expand access to educational opportunities and encourage educational achievement. Through the volunteer efforts of the board and community support, local students receive scholarships to attend an institute of higher learning.
The chapter promotes positive interactions with students and their families with a focus on community involvement. Fundraising includes selling raffles, participating in Penny Wars/Battle of the Bucks, helping with volleyball and basketball concessions, serving a Pancake Breakfast and Night of the Arts supper, and hosting the annual golf tournament. They also accept community contributions made through memorials and the Valiant Membership Program.
